A vision for the African continent from Robert Amoako is that of self-reliance. Where food and shelter is completely taken care of and citizens are comfortable, that is when other initiatives can follow suit.
“If the people are okay, then we can think of science and start building skyscrapers”
With about 10 years’ experience in leadership, Robert identifies his challenge as when he had to deal with ageism at the early stage of his leadership.
“Being a young person I face this issue of ageism where I’ve gone to places with assistants and they have been regarded and welcomed as the director instead of me, the fact that I have been perceived as young and hence incompetent to fit such a role was a challenge to me.”
