Professor Amponsah-Tawiah has revealed in an interview with F5 Digital Media that the biggest challenge facing African leaders is the fact that most African leaders have their thoughts directed towards amassing wealth than to be of service.
He added that most African leaders want to be served rather than being of service to humanity selflessly.

‘The biggest challenge facing African leaders is the fact that for most African leaders the thought of leading is much more to amass wealth than to be of service. I think that for most African leaders, the thought of rather being served as opposed to being of service is our challenge. If individuals go out there selflessly to serve humanity, I guess that their orientation will be quite different’ he explained.
He passionately said that it is only in Africa where leaders spend huge sums of money to assume power.
‘It is only in Africa that you really that leaders are spending huge sums of money to be elected into office to serve we are getting into elections now and people are buying votes an everything yet you are going to be of service and so once the person goes in there, the next thing that the person is for the person to recoup his investment because they see it to be investment. And that for me is worrying’ he lashed out.
He made these submissions as he featured on the show designed to mentor and inspire young people in Africa to become impactful leaders, dubbed ‘Daakye Kanea Leadership Video Podcast’
