Mr. Ebo Richardson, the Chief Enablement officer at ABSA Ghana Limited has said in a leadership video podcast with F5 Digital Media that Africans do not understand what leadership actually is.

He strongly believes that it is because of the erroneous thought on what leadership is, that iAfrica is unable to breed the right leaders. He explained the reasons for his statement to his host on the Daakye Kanea Leadership Podcast

‘How can you breed the right kind of leaders if the model you have is the wrong one. As you said in your intro, we tend to see leadership as power, authority and political leadership. I hear it all the time on television and on radio, people say “our leaders” and the person referring to someone as a leader is a senior officer in a bank or the headmaster in a school’.

According to him until Africans realize that the headmaster of a school or a senior officer in a bank is also a leader, then Africa has a long way to go.
